Event Highlights | The inaugural Hong Kong Laureate Forum (13-18 November 2023)
The inaugural Hong Kong Laureate Forum (HKLF) officially commenced at Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP) on 13 November 2023. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Hon John Lee (Chief Executive of the HKSAR), Prof Timothy Wong (Chairman of the HKLF) together with Dr Martin Lee (Chairman of Henderson Land Group and Director of the Lee Shau Kee Foundation) and Dr Raymond Chan (Chair of the Shaw Prize Foundation and Board Member of the HKLF). The HKLF was held between 13 and 18 November 2023.
Toward the inaugural event, the Forum invited the participation of recipients of Shaw Prize to attend. During the fruitful week, about 200 young scientists from around the world have shared their views, experience, and aspirations in various scientific fields with Shaw Laureates and distinguished scientists.
The Forum aims to inspire young scientists from around the world through participation in a week-long programme comprising world-class intellectual seminars, dialogues, poster sessions, and provide ample opportunities for exchanges between the Shaw Laureates and the young scientists. The Forum acts as an international platform to encourage cross-cultural dialogue.
In addition, the Chinese University of Hong Kong showed its support by organizing two university visits with our distinguished scientists (Prof Edwin Chan and Prof Chu Ming-chung) to share with the young scientists.
