The 2023 Asian Young Scientist Fellowship Annual Conference was held on 16 October 2023 at the University of Hong Kong (in concurrent with the 2023 Future Science Prize Week).

Asian Young Scientist Fellowship aims to encourage and support young scientists in Asia to carry out creative and transformative research; annually, select twelve outstanding early-career scientists in Life Science, Physical Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science; and to provide a US $100,000 Fellowship in support of their research endeavours. The inaugural 2023 AYS Fellows was announced in April this year, representing the most innovative and creative minds in science across Asia.

The Annual Conference aims to highlight the achievements of young scientists in the Asian region and to promote interdisciplinary and international exchanges to stimulate innovation and collaboration. Twelve 2023 AYS Fellows from Japan, Korea, Singapore, and China gathered at the Conference to introduce their research work. Workshops was also held for young scientists to discuss the forefront of scientific inquiry and global issues jointly with senior scientists of the international community. Among the winner, Professor KO Ho (Associate professor at the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics) was nominated as one of the 2023 AYS Fellows in Life Science.
