About the HKEST Award

The Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences (HKAES), comprising leaders of the Hong Kong engineering community, aspires to play a leading role in promoting the development of engineering science and technology (EST) in Hong Kong, including the nurturing of local talents and professionals in EST for a vibrant innovation and technology industry. With the rapid technological developments taking place, we are at the beginning of a creation and solution era for our research outcomes. The Academy believes it is timely for us to recognise young scientists, engineers, and technologists in different disciplines who have creatively developed solutions to problems and contributed tremendously to the betterment of society.

The HKEST Award, newly introduced by the Academy with the support of the Innovation and Technology Commission, aims to recognise and commend outstanding contributions and excellence among younger generations in the HKSAR for their dedication and achievements in the arena of engineering science and technology through research, development, innovation and/or entrepreneurship. Up to six nominees will be selected to receive the Award.
