Co-organised by CUHK and CUHK (SZ), and coordinated by the Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS), this seminar on ALS & Alzheimer's — Novel Research on Neurological Diseases was held successfully on 26 April 2022 (Tue), with over 70 participants from both campuses. The majority were from the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science.

In the seminar, Prof. Ho Yin Edwin Chan (School of Life Sciences, CUHK) introduced novel therapeutic strategies for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/motor neuron disease study. He also looks forward to seeing collaboration opportunities between the two campuses.

And Prof. Kim Hei-Man Chow (School of Life Sciences, CUHK) explained recent work on metabolic aspects in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia with attempts to prevent and modify the rate of progression. 

At the end of the Q&A session chaired by Prof. Prof. Sham Mai Har (Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Vice-President (Research), CUHK), students and staff from CUHK and CHUK (SZ) enjoyed the meaningful insight shared by two professors.
