Parents of autistic children in Kong have clinical level of stress and distress. Their resilience level is very low, comparable to those with General Anxiety Disorder. They have a lack of correct knowledge of autism.

Promoting Autism Parenting Intervention (PAPI), an eight-week localized and autism-specific parent education and training program, will be designed and implemented. It aims to equip parents with practical skills for teaching their autistic children at home.


Increasing understanding and knowledge about autism by 20%
Reducing parental stress by 15%
Increasing adaptive coping skills by 15%
Reducing autistic children’s behavioral problems related to sensory and emotional needs by 15%
Improving social skills of autistic children (e.g. more verbal and non-verbal request making in an appropriate and effective manner) by 20%
