This project aims to design and manufacture a novel targeted-location drug delivery system for lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract (such as the small intestine) capsule robots. The capsule robot can be controlled to reach the target lesion, extend the anchoring leg to prevent the capsule from moving and then release the drug stored inside the capsule. The decoupling module inside the capsule robot enables control of the drug releasing and anchoring function with only one external permanent magnet.
