Every year, 3.8million of children suffer from concussions in USA during sports and recreational activities. 50% of the child concussions are not reported. Unreported concussion leads to repeated concussion. It is especially challenging for infants and children to communicate concussion symptoms. Gelpro is a headband that can subjectively report concussions to prevent further damages. Its gel pressure sensor measures impact to determine the level of concussion. The pressure sensor detects the electrical signals generated via metal-ion transport principle. Such feature has never been commercialized and released in the market under a purpose of prevention in repeated brain trauma injuries. Gel pressure sensor incorporated headband is needed to protect child’s developing brain and avoid any psycological repercussion later in life.
