The number of members of CUHK participate in animal research activities have been increasing and more than 40,000 animals have been issued for experimentation this year. How do we improve the welfare of these animals? The University is working towards the Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC) accreditation programme. Participation in AAALAC will promote continuous improvement in animal record keeping, animal welfare and research quality.

In this workshop, members of the AEEC will share their insights of animal research and welfare in CUHK with correspondence to the AAALAC framework. Principal investigators, animal technicians and users, students are all welcome to join.
